Of course, reality is nothing of that sort, and whilst it must be acknowledged that some organisations are better than others, most of them are only excelling in fairy tales. Who knows how to obtains details for each nook and cranny of the organisational complexity, in whom what knowledge is vested, and where to find consultants or similar knowledgeable persons to assist? Are boundary conditions really important to be established for reactive operational functions such as the IT help desk, or do we better resort to schedules of synchronous, asynchronous and emerging events? So - come with me on this tale about my organization of 800 plus 'souls' and let us together explore what a well placed business - or government department - may be like.
